The Department of Social Services (the department) is seeking outstanding senior executives to fill the roles of Branch Manager, Financial Services and Branch Manager, Financial Management in the Finance Group.
The Branch Manager, Financial Services Branch, is responsible for supporting the department to meet its financial accountability responsibilities to Government and the Parliament. This position is also responsible for developing and implementing accounting policies and processes that guide the department’s external financial reporting. This role includes the management of financial statements preparation; monthly financial reporting to the Department of Finance; tax management; treasury and cash management; asset management; procurement and contracts; accounts processing and financial policy development; and associated compliance reporting.
The Branch Manager, Financial Management Branch, works closely with the department’s senior executive and is responsible for developing the department’s finance strategy and implementing associated practices and procedures to effectively manage the departmental and administered financial resources. The role is also responsible for setting and managing the department’s annual administered, departmental and capital internal budget allocations including monthly performance and forecast reporting to the senior executive. The position also has responsibility for delivering financial support across the department through a network of finance managers.
