#945 Advisory Committee Members and Chair, (Statutory Appointments), Australian Research Council
The ARC Advisory Committee (the Committee) is a designated committee established under section 30 of the ARC Act. Committee membership will reflect a variety of skills and experience, including across higher education, industry, civil society and public administration.
The Committee will have a diverse composition, comprising members with knowledge and expertise from a research, community or industry perspective and from a range of universities, reflecting a broad representation of the Australian research workforce, including early and mid-career researchers, distinguished academics and senior administrators. Membership will also include senior officials with knowledge and expertise in research collaborations with industry and business and community understanding.
The Committee is not a decision-making body. In accordance with section 3 of the ARC Act, the Committee supports the ARC Board through the provision of advice on the priorities, strategies and policies of the ARC.
The Board may identify the key areas on which it seeks the advice of the Committee and may also task the Committee to provide advice on particular matters relevant to the work of the Board.
The Committee will comprise of up to 15 members including one Chair.
